Eight European countries will be represented by both teams, men and women, in Las Vegas
The 5th Men's European Championships in Vienna, Austria, served as the qualifying event for the 2013 WTBA World Championships. The combined championships for men and women will be held from Aug. 18-31 at Sunset Station's Strike Zone bowling center in Las Vegas. The 15 women teams have been decided in June at the 2012 Women's European Championships in Tilburg, Netherlands. Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Poland and Sweden will be represented by both teams.
United States (host), Colombia, Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, Puerto Rico, Brazil, Dominican Republic and Costa Rica qualify for the 2013 WTBA Combined World Championships
Team USA's Shannon Pluhowsky (l.) and Canada's George Lambert IV (r.) earned the gold medals Saturday in Masters match play to close out the 2012 Pan American Bowling Confederation Adult Championships. Pluhowsky, the reigning World Champion in Masters, defeated teammate Liz Johnson, 238-226, to win the women's title, while Lambert fired a perfect game in defeating Puerto Rico's Francisco Colon, 300-175, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in suburban Las Vegas.
