Nati Volpart, Tali Itzhak win Israeli Bowling World Cup qualifier

2012BWCISRQWinners_small.jpgNati Volpart and Tali Itzhak (l-r) won the Israeli World Cup Qualifier Saturday at "Bola" bowling center in Holon. For the first time in their career, the duo will represent Israel at the 48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Wroclaw, Poland. 42 players participated in the 23rd running of the Israeli BWC Qualifier. All players, men and women, bowled 18 games of qualifying over three days to determine the top 8 men and top 8 women for the single-elimination finals.

Champions to represent the Netherlands at the 2012 QubicaAMF World Cup in Poland

Daniëlle van der Meer and Michell Stinissen (r-l) won the women's and men's title in the highest division and will represent their country at the 2012 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Poland. In the women's title match, Van der Meer defeated defending champion Wendy Kok, 2-1, while Stinissen topped Sven Steenbekkers, 2-1, for the men's title.

48th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup berths for Wendy Bartaire, Thierry Sacco

In the women's title match, Bartaire swept Isabelle Derynck, two-games-to-none, in the best-of-three games format to claim her first berth into the BWC. Sacco will represent his country for the fourth time after 2005 (Slovenia), 2006 (Venezuela) and 2009 (Malaysia) thanks to a 2-1 victory over Jonathan Lefevre.

Winners will represent Kazakhstan in the 2012 Bowling World Cup

The winners will represent Kazakhstan in the 2012 Bowling World Cup in Poland. Sazonov led the men's division with 4148 pinfall total including 135 bonus pins to earn his first career BWC berth. Grishinenko dominated the women's field and finished 442 pins ahead of her nearest competitor.

The bowling center is part of a larger complex within Fitness Academy group and is located in the Sky Tower. It has 24 brand new lanes with the latest scoring equipment from QubicaAMF.

Ben Coupland from Melbourne's Brighton East won the Australian Open, while former World Cup Ann-Maree Putney from Newcastle took the title in the Vic 150 event to qualify for the 48th BWC (dates and venue tbd).

The two-hander from Down Under, who averaged 255 against Jones, averaged over 250 in the semifinal match against Mykhaylo Kalika (r.) to eliminated the Ukrainian in the deciding third game.

Leading the 69-player field by 127 pins and an average of 241.7 after ten games, defending champion Aumi Guerra (pictured) of the Dominican Republic averaged over 260 in the third five-game block to widen her lead to an enormous 299 pins with five more qualifying games to go. Guerra had games of 278, 234, 267, 246 and 279.

This is the second time after 1993 that South Africa hosts the BWC. Northcliff Bowling Center, which belongs to the chain of Let's Go Bowling South Africa, is 24-laner with QubicaAMF equipment.

150 players - 81 men and 69 women - from 82 countries participate in the 47th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7, 2011 at Northcliff Bowling Center in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Opening Ceremonies was held in the 'World of Beer' and featured Zulu dancers before all the bowlers marched in. The center, situated in the heart of the Johannesburg Newtown Cultural Precinct, reveals the history of beer. It was opened by former President Nelson Mandela more than 16 years ago, on May 15, 1995.
