The Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress, host federation of the 2011 World Tenpin Bowling Association Women's World Championships has released the Bulletin No. 2 for the championships which will be held from Sept. 2-11, 2011 in Hong Kong, China. So far 29 WTBA member federations have confirmed to participate in the 2011 WWC, 16 from the European Tenpin Bowling Federation, eight from the Asian Bowling Federation and five from the Pan American Bowling Confederation.
The Israeli Bowling Federation has announced its team for the 2011 Men's European Championships in Germany and the 2011 Women's World Championships in Hong Kong. The national team members were determined after 42 games (six 7-game series, three on long and three on short oil) which were bowled in two bowling centers - Hutzot bowling center in Haifa and Bola bawling center in Holon - over a span of four weeks.

The city of Henderson, Nevada, located just a few miles South of Las Vegas, has been selected to host the 2013 WTBA World Championships. The first World Championships which will combine both men and women since the year 2003 will be held at Strike Zone Bowling Center inside Sunset Station Hotel & Casino most likely from August 18-31. The decision was made by the Executive Board of the World Tenpin Bowling Association during the board's meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, from December 1-3.

In an all-Team USA affair, Chris Barnes swept his team mate and fellow PBAer Patrick Allen, three-games-to-none, to win the gold medal in Masters in the Men's World Championships Saturday, Aug. 21st at Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring near Munich, Germany. Barnes had the front ten in the third game in best-of-five format and wrapped up the title with a 289-212 win. Allen took silver while Wes Malott, United States and Korea's Choi sBok-Eum hared the bronze medal.
The team finals of the 2010 Men's World Championships were decided in the very last frame Friday night at Dream-Bowl Palace in Unterföhring, Munich, Germany. Team USA anchor bowler Tommy Jones struck on his first two shots for a 1073-1057 victory to give the United States its third consecutive gold medal in the five-player Team event. Three of PBA's finest, Bill O'Neill, Tommy Jones and Chris Barnes (l-r) powered their way into the lead in the Men's World Championships Trios competition by setting a new championship record for three games with 2196 (244 ave.). Starting the day in 8th place the Team USA members fired games of 727, 738 and 731 to set the pace in the Trios preliminaries with 4081 pinfall total (226.72).Mexico is currently in second place with 3839, followed by Thailand and Finland with 3727 and 3723, respectively.
Malaysia's Liew, Ridhwan, Kong lead field of 115 Trios into second day on long oil
Just two trios of Squad 3 cracked the top 10 on the first day of the Trios preliminaries at the Men's World Championships. Anthony Fabre, Alain Nicolas and Xavier Lotthe (l.), France led the squad on the 45-foot Mexico City oil pattern with 1884 3-game total (209,33). Biboy Rivera, Raoul Miranda and Chester King (lr., Philippines,moved into 10th place with 1859.
No changes atop the leaderboard in Trios preliminaries
Finns Joonas Jähi, Petteri Salonen and Pasi Uotila (l.) put together an 1890 three game series to lead Squad 2 and to move into 6th place on the leaderboard in the Trios preliminaries at the Men's World Championships. Thailand was mere one pin behind with 1889. The second trio of the United States (r.)were another four pins behind to overtake 8th place with 1885. Malaysia held on to the lead.

The Malaysians received the silver medal while teams from Germany and the U.S. shared the bronze medal.
