The Professional Bowlers Association and Brunswick Bowling & Billiards have announced a three-year extension of Brunswick's sponsorship of the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour and Senior Tour as official lane maintenance and capital equipment supplier. The PBA Tour kicked off its 2010-11 season recently with the PBA World
Series of Bowling at the South Point Bowling Center in Las Vegas.
Kegel, a leader in developing bowling lane products and services, has announced the promotion of Chris Chartrand (pictured) to President, effective immediately. He will be responsible for Kegel's strategic direction and daily operations. Chartrand joined Kegel in 1999 when the company began its own branded line of lane machines. He was instrumental in building Kegel's worldwide distribution network and formally created the marketing and sales division. In 2003 Chartrand became the Vice President of Marketing and Sales.

It hasn't even been two years yet and, already, the MOTIV™ brand of bowling balls is surpassing expectations. This success has allowed the company to step up their game with the PBA and advance registration to the national level. For the 2010-2011 bowling season, MOTIV™ equipment will be registered under the All-Tour Competition program. This allows MOTIV™ equipment to be used, not only in regional and senior PBA competition, but in national events as well.
Valcke Bowling Service has announced it has entered into an agreement to become the exclusive distributor for Brunswick in the Netherlands. In addition to marketing Brunswick products in the French-speaking market, Valcke will also serve the complete Dutch-speaking market in Europe. Owner Luc Valcke was understandably very happy about the agreement, particularly as it came just in time for the upcoming 2010-11 league season.

The Kegel Training Center and Dolfijn Bowling in Tilburg, Netherlands, have announced the Grand Opening of Kegel Training Center Europe NL. This new facility is located inside Dolfijn Bowlingcentrum, in Tilburg, Netherlands. The new training center will feature the latest in bowling coaching tools such as Dartfish video software with HD cameras and 4 lanes of Computer Aided Tracking System or (C.A.T.S.).
Brunswick Bowling announced today that its licensing relationship with Dexter Shoe Company will terminate at the end of 2010. Dexter has been the official shoe licensee for Brunswick Bowling for 14 years, and will continue to support the Brunswick brand throughout the remainder of the 2010/2011 season. Strikeforce Bowling will become the new shoe licensee for Brunswick effective Jan., 1, 2011.
After living four and a half years in Europe, Ron Wood (pictured left), Vice President of International Sales and Service for QubicaAMF Worldwide, and his family have relocated back to the US. Because of the huge popularity of bowling on Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL), the Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Gem, NCL’s newest ship will also have bowling. In fact, this new ship will have the most bowling lanes at sea, with a total of six lanes between two different venues on the vessel. The Norwegian Epic, a third generation Freestyle Cruising ship and, to date the company’s largest and most innovative ship, is set to depart on its maiden voyage in June 2010.

Bill Supper has announced his retirement as executive director of the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame (IBM/HF), effective June 15, 2010. Supper is a 30-year veteran of the bowling business, having worked for the BPAA) the IBPSIA and as executive director of the Hall for a total of five years.
Supper, who joined the Museum this past September, stated, "It was such an honor to be selected by the IBMHOF board of directors to assist in the final build-out and grand opening of this state-of-the art tribute to the sport of bowling."
