Korean Boys and Girls dominate 16th Asian Youth Championships in Egypt

Korean Youth Team captures 19 out of 24 medals including 9 gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze

The youth teams from Korea dominated the 16th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships, which was held in Cairo, Egypt, from Feb. 1-10, 2012. In the Boys division Hwang Dong-Jun, Choi Tae-Seung, Ryu Ji-Hoon and Cha In-Ho turned in an outstanding performance and left Egypt with all five gold medals plus one silver and four bronze. In the Girls Division, Kang Su-Jin, Son Hye-Rin, Lim So-Hyun and Hwang Yeon-Ju won all but the gold medal in Masters and added three silver and two bronze medals to the Korean medal haul.

16th Asian Youth Championships in Egypt

International Bowling Center in Cairo, Egypt (Feb. 1 - Feb. 10, 2012)

ABFLogo_small.jpgThe Egyptian Bowling Federations will host the 16th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships from Feb. 1-10 at the International Bowling Center, a 24-laner in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt. Just 50 youth bowlers, 32 boys and only 18 girls, from 8 countries will compete in Singles, Doubles, Team, All Events and Masters. This is lowest number of participants since 1983 and the third-lowest in the history of Asia's premier youth bowling event. The Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) currently has 39 member federations.
