Big payday for Canadian Dan MacLelland; wins $30,000 top prize in The International Mini

2012MiniEliminatorTop3_small.jpgPBA exempt player Dan MacLelland (center), a native Canadian who lives in Saginaw, Mich., won The International Mini Sunday morning, Feb. 5, at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Nev., and received the $30,000 first-place check. In the one-game championship match, the Canadian Bowler of the Year 2011 defeated Bronze Division champion Darrin Remiticado of Stockton, Calif.,, and Silver Division champion Willie Wells of Herriman, Utah,  203-187-182.

D.J. Archer wins 10,000 Dollar in All Events in Las Vegas

Archer (l.) of Pt Arthur, Texas averaged over 240 in the qualifying of the USBC Masters, WTBA International Open and The International Mini en route to win $10,000 first prize in All Events with 4813 20-game total. Two-time PBA champion Mike Machuga (r.) of Erie, Pa., matched Archer's earnings when hit the jackpot at one of the Keno machines in Strike Zone Bowling Center.

56 players advance to The International Mini finals on Super Bowl Sunday

Finals start at 8 a.m. at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in Las Vegas

2012MiniEliminatorLogo_small.jpg A total of 56 players advanced to the divisional finals of the 2012 International Mini starting at 8 a.m. Pacific on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5. Alex Aguiar of N. Dartmouth, Mass. set the tone in Saturday's qualifying in the Gold Division with 993 four game total. Julio Blancas of Mexico City, Mexico rolled the highest series of the day in the Silver Division (1000) and Courtney Harris of New York City totaled 871 including handicap to lead the Bronze Division. .

Among the players, who advanced from te to the finals on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 5 starting at 8 a.m. Pacific were Candian Bowler of the Year Dan MacLelland (l.), and four-time PBA champion Ryan Shafer (r.) of Horseheads, N.Y.

Also advancing to the finals was Sara Rash of Montgomery, Ill., in the Bronze Division and national team members Lucas Legnani (l.) of Argentina and Martin Larsen (r.) of Sweden in the Gold Division. Legnani went on to win the second six-game sweeper worth $1,000.

Shannon Pluhowsky rolled a 1370 series to win the first six-game sweeper worth $1,000.

Two PBA champions among the first six finalists of The International Mini

Two players in each division earn berths into the finals on Super Bowl Sunday

201112PBAMikeScroggins_small.jpg201112PBAScottNorton_small.jpgPBA champions Mike Scroggins (pictured left) and Scott Norton (right) were among the six players who advanced to the finals of The International Mini on the first two days of the qualifying currently underway at Strike Zone Bowling Center inside Sunset Station Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Scroggins toppled 1058 pins, an average of 264.50 over four games, to lead the tournament's Gold Division on Saturday. Norton qualified in the same division on Sunday with 963.

Organizers announce lane conditioning pattern for The International Mini

2012MiniEliminatorLogo_small.jpg Pinacle Events, organizer of "The International Mini" has announced that Kegel will be putting down the WTBA "Athens" pattern for the upcoming event. The tournament, immediately following the USBC Masters and running concurrently with the WTBA International Open, is a scratch and handicap competition from January 28 through February 5. All three events will hosted by Sunset Station Strike Zone bowling center in suburban Las Vegas.

Three event promoters create no-cost-to-enter all-events $30,000 prize fund

2012MiniEliminatorLogo_small.jpg The International Mini is a new major bowling event which will be hosted by Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center in Las Vegas, Jan. 28 - Feb. 5. What is being promoted as "the greatest two weeks of bowling" The International Mini will follow the USBC Masters (Jan. 22-29) and run concurrently with the WTBA 2012 International Open. Over $500,000 in prize money will be paid out.
