Hall of Famer Jason Couch makes "farewell" appearance in PBA Summer Shootout
Jason Couch of Clermont, Fla. (pictured), a 16-time champion and 21-year veteran of PBA competition, will make his "farewell" appearance as a PBA Tour competitor during the sixth annual GEICO PBA Summer Shootout series which debuts on ESPN on Saturday, July 7 at 2 p.m. ET. The PBA Hall of Famer will make his final appearance as a PBA Tour player as a member of the Ebonite International team competing against rival bowling ball companies in a unique made-for-television singles and doubles competition.
Made-for-TV event includes a pro-am, a live announcement of the 2011-12 PBA Player of the Year and two days of head-to-head competition producing 15 half-hour telecasts for broadcast on ESPN
When the PBA stars get together at 10pin bowling lounge on the north side of Chicago’s loop over the extended Memorial Day weekend, it’s going to be a contest of youthful enthusiasm vs. wily veterans, ladies against gentleman, international stars vs. America’s best, and – most of all – a battle between nine bowling ball manufacturers.
