Also this weekend, the PBA Tour's competition points leaders will join the best players from the PBA's seven regional programs and the 2011 PBA Senior Tour points list for the Dick Weber PBA Playoffs presented by Hammer at Woodland Bowl in Indianapolis.

The Doubles Championships, conducted in November 2011, aired Sunday on ESPN and ended a streak of five consecutive PBA World Series of Bowling titles won by international players.

Norm Duke wins PBA Detroit Open presented by Track for 36th career title

Becomes the third player in PBA history who surpassed the $3 million career earnings mark

Duke, of Clermont, Fla., defeated reigning PBA Player of the Year and No. 1 seed, Finland native Mika Koivuniemi, 266-217, in the championship match at Thunderbowl Lanes to win the $10,000 first prize which pushed his career earnings over the $3 million mark. His 36 wins also moved him into a tie for third place on the all-time career list for titles won.

Weber, who recently won a record fifth PBA U.S. Open title, will be among the field of approximately 100 players who will compete in the season's third of four Xtra Frame Tour events. Australian star extends international dominance; Barnes rolls 300 one game too early

After his perfect effort in the semifinal round, Barnes lost in the title match to Australia's Jason Belmonte (r.), 244-213. The title was Belmonte's second in the World Series and the third of his PBA career. The tape-delay telecast of the championship round aired Sunday on ESPN.

In winning the title, Weber broke a tie with his late father, PBA legend Dick Weber, and the late Don Carter, who each won the forerunner to the U.S. Open - the BPAA All Star - four times.

Belmonte, who won three three of his four career PBA titles earlier this season in the PBA World Series of Bowling, put an exclamation point on his rise to the top by defeating previous leader Ryan Shafer of Horseheads, N.Y., 254-191, in the final match of Saturday's afternoon round. Belmonte, the PBA Tour's 2009-10 Rookie of the Year, is still looking for his first major title.
