Singaporean fires 1601 series to lead Son Yun-Hee, Jacqueline Sijore and Mai Ginge Jensen into the finals

2011WWCShaynaNg.jpg2011WWCMaiGingeJensen.jpgShayny Ng (pictured left) of Singapore fired games of 259, 290, 257, 246, 290 and 259 to set a new championship record for six games with 1601, a 266.83 average, en route to claim the No. 1 seed for the Singles finals of the 2011 Women's World Championships at bowling center Hong Kong Bowling City in Hong Kong, China.

Ng overtook previous leader and record-holder, Son Yun-Hee of Korea by 105 pins. Son finished the preliminaries in second place with 1496. Mai Ginge Jensen (right) of Denmark was second to Ng in Squad 3 and tied Jacqueline Sijore, Malaysia, at 1486 to take the last spots for the finals. Due to the higher last game, Jensen was seeded third and meets Son in the semifinals. In the other match Ng and Sijore will square off.

The third and last squad in the Singles competition of the 2011 Women's World Championships took to the lanes Sunday morning to complete the preliminaries.

The scoring pace slowed down a little bit in game three. Ng had 257 to become the second player after Squad 2 leader Jacqueline Sijore, Malaysia (812), to roll an 800 series with 806.
