16th Asian Youth Championships in Egypt

The Egyptian Bowling Federations will host the 16th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships. The competition will be staged at the International Bowling Center, a 24-laner in Nasr City, Cairo, Egypt, from Feb. 1 - Feb. 10, 2012.
Just 50 youth bowlers, 32 boys and only 18 girls, from 8 countries - Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Philippines, Qatar and the host country Egypt - will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Team, All Events and Masters.
This is lowest number of participants since 1983 and the third-lowest in the history of Asia's premier youth bowling event. The Asian Bowling Federation (ABF) currently has 39 member federations.
The opening ceremonies are scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 2. The seven-day competition starts with the Girls Singles event on Saturday, Feb. 4 and concludes with Boys and Girls Masters finals and the Victory Banquet on Friday, Feb. 10.
