    2012WYCLogo.jpg The Thai Tenpin Bowling Association, host federation of the 2012 World Youth Championships has released Bulletin No. 2 for the championships which will be held from June 22-July 3 in Bangkok. Hosting the WYC in 2002, Thailand will become the first multiple host in the history of the World Youth Championships.

    The World Tenpin Bowling Association has nominated Dr. Danny Santos, Philippines, as the Tournament Director and Marios Nicolaides, Cyprus, as the Technical Delegate. Host Tournament Manager is Mrs. Suwalai Satrulee.

    To participate in the 12th edition of this biennial championships for national junior team members, players must be born between January 1st, 1991 and December 31st, 1998.

    Maximum four girls and four boys per country will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, four-player Teams, All Events and Masters in the 10-day competition (June 24-July 3).

    The World Youth Championships are contested every other year, with the first event held in Manila, Philippines in 1990. Other host cities were 1992 Caracas, Venezuela; 1994 Monterrey, Mexico; 1996 Hong Kong; 1998 Inchon, South Korea; 2000 Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic; 2002 Pattaya, Thailand; 2004 Tamuning, Guam; 2006 Berlin, Germany; 2008 Orlando, Fla., United States; and 2010 Helsinki, Finland.

    The 2012 World Youth Championships will be contested at Blu-O Paragon Bowling Center. which is located 200 meters from the official hotels featuring 30 lanes with Brunswick equipment (Anvilane GID, GSX pin spotters, VGPPER scoring system). Kegel will be the official lane maintenance partner of the championships.

    Bulletin No. 1 and 2 contain information about the preliminary schedule, official hotels, bowling center, various facilities and services, various fees, as well as forms and deadlines.

    The last day to register for the 2012 WYC is March 30, 2012.
