Field set for 2013 Combined World Championships

    36 men's teams and 36 women's teams are qualified for the Championships to be held at Sunset Station's Strike Zone in Henderson, Nev., United States, from Aug. 18-31, 2013

    2011WTBALogo.jpgThe field is set for the 2013 WTBA Combined World Championships which will be held from August 18-31 at Sunset Station's Strike Zone bowling center, a 72-laner in Henderson, Nev., in suburban Las Vegas, United States. For the first time since 2003 in Malaysia, the men will bowl alongside the women in a World Championship.

    After the conclusion of the Asian Championships in Hong Kong earlier today, which served as the qualifier for the Asian Bowling Federation (ABF), the field of 36 men's teams and 36 women's teams is now complete. Asia will be represented by 12 teams in each division.

    2012StrikeZoneatSunsetStation72lanes.jpgThe 15 men's and women's teams of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation (ETBF) were determined at the Women's European Championships in Tilburg, Netherlands (June 6-17, 2012) and the Men's European Championships in Vienna, Austria (Aug. 16-26, 2012).

    Eight teams plus host country United States come from the Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON). The PABCON Combined Championships, which served as the qualifier for the eight countries, who will sent a men's and women's team each, was contested Strike Zone (pictured right) in Henderson (Aug. 18-26, 2012). As the host country Team USA was automatically qualified for the event.

    The WTBA Executive Board has decided that substitutes will be invited in case of withdrawals.
