Robert Morris University-Illinois sweeps 2012 Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic

The men's and women's teams from Robert Morris University-Illinois (pictured above) upended their Wichita State University counterparts in the knockout elimination finals to win the 2012 Kegel/ISBPA Collegiate Classic titles.
The Eagles men's team entered the eight-team knockout phase of the Oct. 20-21 tournament at Landmark Lanes in Peoria as the qualifying leader and dispatched the Wheatshockers in the two-game Baker format finals 434-343.
The Lady Eagles converted several key spares and splits in the two-game finale to slip past qualifying leader Wichita State 379-370.
Robert Morris' twin victories garnered $3,600 in scholarship prizes for the school ($2,000 first place men, $1,600 first place women). Wichita State took home scholarship prizes of $1,000 (men) and $800 (women) for its second-place finishes.

Jacob Kent (Robert Morris-Illinois, 222.8 avg.) and Tannya Roumimper (Wichita State, 215.5 avg.) led individual scoring for the men and women, respectively, for the six regular-bowling qualifying games. Forty-seven varsity teams (28 men, 19 women) competed in this year's tournament.
