It was the fifth career ABF Tour title for the UAE bowler, who has won titles in Kuwait (2008, 2010), Thailand (2009) and the 2010 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions.

Al-Suwaidi, the Asian point ranking leader in the years 2008 to 2010, started the single-elimination finals with a huge 278-199 win over Mansour Al-Awamy of Qatar before he ousted Hong Kong national team members, Wicky Yeung (214-167) and Eric Tseng (227-206), to book his spot in the championship match.

The Bahraini then posted two solid games to edge Khaled Al-Dubyyan of Kuwait, 222-200, and 13-year-old Bahraini youth bowler Ahmed Amin Al-Awahdi, 211-191.

The second leg of the 2013 Asian Bowling Federation Tour will be held on March 18 at Cozmo Bowling Center in Kuwait City following the World Bowling Tour's Kuwait Open (March 13-17, 2013).
