Lizano, Zetter, Lozano, Martinez crowned Masters champions in 2006 CAMBOWL Junior

Alberto Lizano, Costa Rica (Boys Under 21) and Mexicans Miriam Aseret Zetter Velasco (Girls U21), Diego Ivan Lozano Trevino (Boys U15) and Jimena Martinez Vazquez (Girls U15) ended the 2006 CAMBOWL Junior at CRTC Bowling Center in San José, Costa Rica, with victory in the Masters competition.
All Events champion and No. 1 seed Albert Lizano swept three opponints in the best-of-three games single elimination format to earn the title with a 2-0 victory over Julio Diego Quintanilla B. of Mexico. Guatemala's Jorge Samayoa beat out his compatriot Jose Marroquin for the bronze medal. Amazingly all eight matches in the Boys Under 21 Division went in a quick 2-0. The pictures shows champion Lizano with Tournament Director Martin Faba, President of the Costa Rica Bowling Association.
The Girls Under 21 final was an all-Mexican affair with No. 1 seed Patricia Contreras and No. 2 seed Aseret Zetter facing off. Zetter wrapped off the title with a 183-176 victory in the third and deciding game, 2-1. In the roll-off for third and fourth place, Emma Castro defeated Roxana Fajardo, El Salvador, 2-0, to give Mexico all three medals in this division. One of the first to congratulate the new champion was Jose Guandique, President of the WTBA American Zone (pictured). Diego Lozano, the No. 2 seed, came back fro a 0-1 deficit to win the title in the Boys Under 15 Division. Lozano lost the first game against Erik Roy, Costa Rica, 205-239, but rebounded with back-to-back victories in games two and three. 8th seeded Francisco Gamero, El Salvador, topped Cristian Rodas, Guatemala, in the decider, 211-148, to earn the bronze medal.
On the girls side, Jimena Martinez, also seeded second, secured the title with a 2-0 victory over Pamela Monzon, Guatemala. Martinez won the first game, 166-143, then posted a huge game to sel the victory, 223-167. Two Mexicans battled it out for the bronze medal. Third-seeded Pamela Sandoval came back to defeat No. 1 seed, Pamela Alvarez, 2-1, after being down 0-1.
