Four Sectional Qualifiers, comprising of 64 Baker System games, were held at AMF Parkway in Allentown, Pa.; Holiday Bowl Brainerd in Chattanooga, Tenn.; St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Ill.; and Southpoint Hotel & Casino Bowling Center in Las Vegas. The top four in the men's and women's divisions at each sectional advanced to the 2007 USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships, scheduled for April 18-21 at Northrock Lanes in Wichita, Kan.

Saginaw Valley State, which defeated Newman in the men's national championship last season to claim its third national title and first since 1997, won the Chattanooga Sectional to advance to the national finals for the fourth straight year. The Cardinals are ranked No. 1 in the National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association and Bowling Writers Association of America polls.

Other qualifiers from the men's division, which features six past champions and eight returning teams from the 2006 event, include sectional champions Nebraska, St. John's and Fresno State. Also advancing were Wichita State, William Paterson, Robert Morris (Pa.), Morehead State, Pikeville, Central Florida, Florida State, Missouri Baptist, Lindenwood, California-Davis, West Texas A&M and Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.), which will be making its USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships debut in the program's inaugural season.

Wichita State will make its 22nd straight appearance and record 27th overall appearance in the event's 33-year history. Missouri Baptist will also be making its first appearance.

In the women's division, Lindenwood, which got by Central Florida in the women's national championship last year to win its first national title, finished second in the Las Vegas Sectional to advance for the fifth time in the program's five-year history.

Other qualifiers from the women's division, which features six former champions and 13 returning teams from 2006, include sectional champions Wichita State, Pikeville, Morehead State and Fresno State. Joining them will be Penn State, Shippensburg, Hudson Valley Community College, Central Florida, Ohio State, Ball State, McKendree, Purdue, Western Illinois, Newman and West Texas A&M.

Top-ranked Wichita State will make its record 32nd appearance and 26th straight since 1982. Ohio State will return to nationals for the first time since 1992, while Hudson Valley's last trip came in 1998.

Seven schools qualified both their men's and women's teams from sectionals, which consisted of 32 Baker System games each day for a total of 64 Baker games.

The USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships is the pinnacle event of the college bowling season. The tournament brings together the top 16 men's and top 16 women's teams in the country to compete for national titles on national television (College Sports Television).
