Manico, Keel to represent Switzerland in QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup



    2008BWCBigiManico.jpg Bigi Manico and Theo Keel won the Swiss World Cup qualifier September 6-7 at Bowling Lausanne Vidy and will represent their country in the 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup from November 7-15, 2008 in Hermosillo, Mexico.

    2008BWCTheoKeel.jpg It was business as usual for Manico, who won her seventh ticket to the World Cup. Leading by almost 300 pins heading into the final six games, the lefty could afford to average under 170 and still easily won the qualifier with 6017 pinfall total.

    Nicole Baumgartner was a distant second with 5806, with Natacha Corminboeuf in third at 5503.

    In the men's division, Keel secured his first-ever World Cup appearance with a one-pin victory in the final match against Jean-Marc Godel. Keel beat out Sandro Ancarani for the top spot by 20 pins, 6389 to 6369. Godel, who averaged 234.60 in the finals was another 41 pins behind in third place with 6328.
