2008ASCEstherCheah_small.jpg 2008AsCZulmazranZulkifli_small.jpg Malaysia's most potent bowlers currently -- Zulmazran Zulkifli and former world champion Esther Cheah -- will compete in the AMF World Cup in Hermosillo, Mexico on Nov 7-15.

The selection of Zulmazran and Esther by the Malaysian Tenpin Bowling Congress (MTBC) proves the congress is serious about ending the country's 40-year-old AMF drought.

Zulmazran, who also competed in the 2002 edition in Latvia, has been the most successful men's bowler this year and should pose a serious threat in the meet.

The 25-year-old proved his mettle by nailing the Malaysian Open in March and finishing second in the World Ranking Masters in Jakarta in May.

Esther's form has been rather erratic so far this year but the 22-year-old tends to deliver in major competitions. She has already won three world titles and several gold medals in the Sea Games and Asian Games.

MTBC secretary Sidney Tung said both have been consistent and should make an impact in Mexico.
