Singaporean, Australian 1, 2 after qualifying in men's EBT Masters

World and Asian Games champion Remy Ong (pictured left) from Singapore held on to the lead in the men's European Bowling Tour Masters after 18 games of qualifying (six-game blocks on short, long and dual lane condition).
The Southpaw had the fifth-best 1304 series (217.33) Tuesday morning on dual oil to win the qualifying with 4203 pinfall total and an average of 233.50.
PBA champion and Rookie of the Year, Jason Belmonte (right), the two-hander from Australia, led the third block with 1443 (240.50) to jump into second place with 4138 (229.89). Fellow two-hander and defending EBT Masters champ, Osku Palermaa, Finland, was second with 1427 to make the cut in fourth place with 4059.
Joining those three in the final round are three Swedes, Peter Ljung (3rd, 4064), Robert Andersson (5th, 4026) and Aalborg Int'l champion Martin Larsen (3915) as well as Paul Moor, England (6th, 4000) and Norwegian Mads Sandbækken (7th, 3948).
The top 8 players will determine the champion this afternoon in an 8-game round robin match play round on dual lane condition.
