Wu Siu Hong (pictured left), Hong Kong, and Sharon Koh (right), Malaysia, took the lead after the first of two blocks in the men's and women's Open Masters finals in the 42nd Singapore International Open.
Wu averaged 227.63 for the round to lead the men's field with 1821 pinfall total, 30 pins ahead of Shaker Al-Hassan, who is second with 1791. Adrian Ang, Malaysia, is third with 1784, followed by Cyrus Cheung, Hong Kong, in fourth place 1765 and Aaron Kong, Malaysia, in fifth with 1763.

Koh led compatriot Shalin Zulkifli by mere three pins with 1882 and an average of 235.25. Zulkifli is second with 1879. 44th QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup champion and Singapore Sportswoman of the Year 2009, Jasmine Yeong-Nathan, is third with 1765.
Rounding out the top 6 were: 4. Zatil Iman, Malaysia, 1756; 5. Geraldine Ng, Singapore, 1743; and 6. Kim Eun Jung, Korea, 1734.
The 30 women and the 42 men including defending champions Hussain Al-Suwaidi and Cherie Tan, Singapore, will bowl another 8 games block on Saturday to cut to the top 6 players who will advance to the stepladder finals.
In the opening match, players seeded 4th, 5th and 6th will face off in a one-game shoot-out match. The winner meets No. 2 and No. 3 seed for the right to bowl the top-seeded player for the title. The No. 1 seed must be defeated twice to win the title.
The men's champion will receive 25,000 Singapore Dollars, while the women's champion will walk away with $5,000.
