USBC releases final Bulletin No. 3 for the WTBA Women’s World Championships in Las Vegas

2009WWCLogo.jpg The United States Bowling Congress, host of the 2009 World Tenpin Bowling Association Women’s World Championships has released the final Bulletin No. 3 for the championships including the final schedule, country participant list and athlete list. The WWC 2009 will be held from July 24-August 3, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States, and features record 46 countries.

The 2009 WWC will be hosted on 60 lanes, specially constructed inside Cashman Center (point-and-click cam) in which the 2009 USBC Open Championships will be staged prior to the WWC from Feb. 21-July 24 (special squads for WWC guests July 22-24).

The official WWC hotel is the Sunset Station Hotel and Casino in Henderson, Nevada which is about seven miles or 15 minutes from McCarran Airport and about 12 miles or 20 minutes from Cashman Center.

The room rates start at $77 Single/Double; $83 Triple; $89 Quad including free internet access, breakfast buffet and tax. The Sunset Station Hotel and Casino’s Strike Zone Bowling Center will host the U.S. Women’s Open immediately after the WWC from Aug 3-9.

Federations choosing to accommodate their delegation in a separate hotel WILL NOT be permitted to use the shuttle bus service, including from airport to hotel, hotel to bowling center and then back to the airport when departing.

The 60 USBC Open Championships Lanes at Cashman Center are located at 850 Las Vegas Blvd North and equipped with Brunswick ProAnvilane lane surface, Brunswick ProAnvilane (Textured Synthetic) approach, Brunswick GS-X pinsetters, Brunswick Max pins, Brunswick ball return and Steltronics scoring system.

The USBC Open Championships Lanes at Cashman Center is a specially constructed bowling arena that includes stadium spectator seating, multiple pro shops, large state-of-the art scoring screens built above the lanes and much more.

The Cashman Center will host the 2009 USBC Open Championships from Feb. 21-July 24 which features 80,000 bowlers from across the world competing in team, doubles, singles and all-events for nearly $7 million U.S. in prize money.

Las Vegas' 320 days of sunshine a year lends to great vacation weather year-round. Players, coaches, official and guest will face average daytime high temperatures of 105° F (41° C) and average nighttime low of 68° F (20° C), which means golf tee times and other outdoor activities are best scheduled for the early morning when the desert air is mild and enjoyable.

The WWC Tournament Committee consist of Garber, Pat Winkels (Registration Manager), Darlene Baker (Assistant Tournament Manager) and Lucas Wiseman (Press Director).

The Press Room with space up to 25 people has free high-speed wireless internet and is for working press only.

Teams, federations and press will be provided with standings after each game as well as complete standings after each squad. Standings will be available on a scoreboard within the bowling center for spectators.

All delegations will be met at Las Vegas International Airport upon arrival and will be transported to the hotel. Shuttle bus service between the official hotel and the bowling center also will be provided to players, coaches, officials, presidium members and supporters.

Entry visas are required for some countries and the entry forms are not valid as visas. Countries that participate in the Visa Waiver Program will not need a visa if staying less than 90 days. However, all countries should confirm this information independently. Visa applicants are advised to apply for a U.S. visa at least 3 to 4 months in advance.
