USBC to provide live video of Women's World Championships on bowl.com
07/24/09

Bowling fans around the world will be able to watch the finals and select semifinals of the World Tenpin Bowling Association Women's World Championships on the United States Bowling Congress website bowl.com.
The USBC plans to live stream from Las Vegas, Nev., portions of the event that will feature bowlers from 45 countries.
"We believe there is tremendous interest in watching this event both here in the United States and internationally," said USBC Vice President of Media Pete Tredwell (pictured). "Presenting the highest levels of bowling competition online can be a great way to gain additional exposure for the sport."
The live stream will be distributed using Ustream.TV, a service that will insert advertisements over the video at times. USBC does not control the content or frequency of the advertisements.
"At this time, the ad-supported video stream is the financially responsible way for USBC to provide this content for free," Tredwell said. "I am confident fans would rather see a few pop-up ads than not see the action at all."
