The 2009 Women's World Championships got underway on Monday evening with the Opening Ceremonies at Cashman Center in Las Vegas. In true Las Vegas fashion, Cher and Elvis impersonators helped kick off the Championships which features 228 players from 45 WTBA member federations. The Worls Championships return to the United States for the first time since it was held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., in 1995.
