The 2009 Women's World Championships started on Tuesday morning with the Singles event. 228 bowlers from 45 WTBA member federations were split into three squads to bowl six games on the short pattern (Stockholm) to determine the top 4 players, who advanced to the finals on Thursday, July 30, 2009.
