Hong Kong's boys storm to the Doubles title in Kuwait

Michael Mak and Eric Tseng (r-l) from Hong Kong stormed to the gold medal in Doubles in the 15th Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Championships Friday at Cozmo Bowling Center in Salmiya City, Kuwait.
The duo had five games between 416 and 487 and a 511 high game to win the gold medal with 2783 six game total and an average of 231.92. Mak led the team with 1446 (241.00 Avg.), the highest series of the day, and Tseng added 1337. Tseng and his team mate Cyrus Cheung also won the gold medal in the 2007 Asian (adult) championships in 2007.

The 28 doubles were divided into two squads. Squad 1 leader Park Jong Woo and Hong Hae Sol, (left, l-r) Korea, were 90 pins behind the winners to earn the silver medal with 2693 (224.42). The duo had the field-best 1409 three game series in the second block on the long oil pattern.
Khoo Beng Khai and Aris Ardilla Santosh (right, l-r), Malaysia, took the bronze medal with 2639 (219.92). Santosh had the highest individual 3-game series with 756.
Khaled Al-Dubyyan and Rakan Al-Amiri from the host country Kuwait missed the bronze medal by 24 pins to land in fourth place with 2615 (217.92). The second team from Hong Kong, Rickle Kam and Michael Tsang finished in fifth place with 2608 (217.33). The duo matched their team mates 511 game, also in game #3, for the highest game of the day.
Singapore's Justin Lim (pictured left) rolled the fourth 300 game of the championships thus far - one on each day of competition, two by girls and two by boys - en route to jump into sixth place with team mate Basil Low with 2595 (216.25).
58 boys from 15 countries - Australia, China, DPR Korea, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and UAE - will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, 4-player Team, All Events and Masters.

Singapore's Justin Lim rolls fourth 300 game of the Championships
