After defeating No. 4 Ildemaro Ruiz, Venezuela. In the opening match, No. 3 Zulmazran Zulkifli, Malaysia, faced No. 2 Rob Thurlby, England, in the semifinal. The winner advanced to the title match against the No. 1 seed, Adrian Ang, Malaysia.
