Mai Ginge Jensen, Dennis Eklund lead EBT Masters after Day One

Jensen led the 16-player women's division after the first six-game block on the 42 feet medium-long oil pattern with 1318 and maintained her lead with a 1272 in the second block on the 38 feet medium-short oil pattern. The Dane totaled 2590, an average of 215.83 for 12 games.

Patricia Luoto, Germany, was 32 pins behind in second place with 2558. Two-time defending champion Kamilla Kjeldsen, Denmark, was third with 2549. Mai's sister, Anja Ginge Jensen (below left) had the highest series in the second block with 1361 to leap into fourth place with 2488.

Tore Torgersen (right), Norway, led the 16-men field after the first block with 1369 and added 1400 in the second block to sit in second place with 2769.

Robert Andersson, Sweden, was in third place with 2731 and was followed by 2008 EBT Masters champ Osku Palermaa, Finland, in fourth place with 2682.

Eklund, Torgersen and the Jensen sisters each received a 400 Euro bonus.

All players return on Tuesday morning for the final six-game block on combined oil after which the field will be cut to the top 8 men and the top 8 women, who will determine the champion in round robin match play.

The men's and women's champion will receive the 4.000 Euro top prize.
