Korean women and Guam men lead Trios preliminaries after the first block

Korea's Lee Mi Ryung, Lee Seung Ree and Sim Ui-Jin and
Reynaldo Zialcita, Manny Tagle and Jay Leon Guerrero of the host country Guam took the lead in the women's and men's Trios event in the 24th East Asian Pacific Championship after the first 3-game block on Friday morning.
Sim, who has won silver in Singles and Doubles thus far, carried her team with a huge 784 series including games of 267, 228 and 289. Mi Ryung contributed 616 and Seung Ree added 577 for 1977 pinfall total or an average of 219.67.
The trios from Chinese Taipei sit in second and fourth place with 1909 and 1825. The Japanese trios are third and fifth with 1840 and 1819.
The second trio from Korean spearheaded by Singles and Doubles champion Park Ju Young is in sixth place with 1805, just 20 pins off the pace for the playoffs (top 4).
Zialcita led the Guam trio with the men's best 714 series (248, 235, 231) and was followed by Guerrero (657) and Tagle (571) to take the lead with 1941 and an average of 215.78.
The trios from Japan are in second and third place with 1876 and 1855, resp. Rounding out the top 4 is Korea featuring Doubles champions Cha In Ho, Kim Dong Gyun and Kim Sang Pil with 1845.
