Paul Moor wins the title in 2009 European Bowling Tour Masters

Dropping the qualifying pinfall has been a quite controversial topic

With the victory, the lefty ended a two-year drought on the European Bowling Tour. The fact that the 18-game qualifying pinfall was dropped before the match play round has been a quite controversial topic in Aalborg. According to our information, the players made their own results PLUS QUALIFYING and the leader after 26 games, second-place finisher Jason Belmonte (r.), Australia, was paid out the top prize of 4.000 Euro by the players.

Kamilla Kjeldsen wins her second consecutive EBT Masters title

2009EBT04KamillaKjeldsen_small.jpgDefending champion Kamilla Kjeldsen (l.), Denmark, won her second consecutive European Bowling Tour Masters title Tuesday at Lovvang Bowling Center in Aalborg, Denmark. Kjeldsen,  who led the field after qualifying, outaveraged her nearest competitor, compatriot Rikke Holm Rasmussen, in the 8-game round robin match play portion by more than 9 pins. Priscilla Maaswinkel, Netherlands, finished in third place. The third EBT Masters will be held in Vienna, Austria, from May 3-4, 2010.

PBA Rookie of the Year, Jason Belmonte (r.), led the third block with 1443 (240.50) to jump into second place with 4138. The top 8 players will determine the champion this afternoon in an 8-game round robin match play round on dual lane condition.

Defending champion Kjeldsen leads top 8 women into Round Robin

Priscilla Maaswinkel, Netherlands, who led the field after two blocks on short and on long oil, was second with 1319 but slipped to second place with 3930 (218.33). The top 8 players will determine the champion this afternoon in an 8-game round robin match play round on dual lane condition.

Dutch women set the tone in EBT Masters on Day One Qualifying

Maaswinkel had 1306 on short and 1305 on long oil to lead the field of 16 women with 2611 12-game total (217.58). Defending champion Kamilla Kjeldsen is mere 10 pins behind in second place with 2601. The 16 players return on Tuesday for the third and final six-game block on dual lane condition to cut to the top 8, who will determine the champion in round robin match play.

Lefties dominate men's EBT Masters after Day One Qualifying

The lefty outaveraged his nearest competitor by more than eight pins with 2899 16-game total and an average of 241.58. Places 2-4 belong to fellow lefties Paul Moor, England (2800), Peter Ljung, Sweden (2791) and Mads Sandbækken, Norway (2698). The 15 players return on Tuesday for the third and final six-game block on dual lane coondition to cut to the top 8, who will determine the champion in round robin match play.

Flack triumphs in 8th Qatar International Open

Wins 30.000 Euro and claims EBT Women's Ranking title

U.S. $40,000) and to seal the victory in the 2008 European Bowling Tour women's rankings. Barrett, who won his second men's ranking title this season en route to finish second to ranking champion Osku Palermaa, Finland, received 15.000 Euro for second place. Remy Ong, Singapore and Jason Belmonte, Australia pocketed 5.000 Euro each for third and fourth place, respectively.

Flack targets to become the first Swedish ranking champion

Palermaa finished one spot ahead of his nearest competitor, Tore Torgersen, Norway, to maintain a 65 point lead heading into the season-ending event, the 8th Qatar International Open, which offers max. 50 ranking points. In the women's division, Nina Flack (r.), Sweden has a 41-point buffer over defending champion Kirsten Penny, England.

Penny beats Flack in all-women affair to claim the title in Ebonite English Open

Palermaa successfully defends EBT men's ranking title

2008EBT17KirstenPenny_small.jpg The championship match of the Ebonite English Open was an all-women affair with current EBT ranking leaders Nina Flack, Sweden, and Kirsten Penny (pictured), England, facing off. Second seeded Flack won the high-scoring first game of the best-of-three games match, 234-232. 12th seeded Penny, who started this morning at 8 a.m. in Final Round One, ended the day 13 and a half hours and 21 games later, with back-to-back victories, to secure the title and the 5.000 British Pounds top prize. With his 9th place finish in the men's ranking in Nuneaton (15th overall), Osku Palermaa, Finland, has successfully defended the men's EBT ranking title.

Flack wins 5th Oltremare Columbia 300 Open and takes over lead in EBT women rankings

Flack didn't need her eight pins handicap to become the second woman this season to win an EBT open title. Flack pocketed 10.000 Euro for accomplishing the feat. In an all-Norwegian semifinal, Torgersen topped Mads Sandbækken by a whisker, 280-279. Sandbækken eliminated Martin Paulsson, Sweden, in the opening match, 202-191.

Kubica, who won the Grand Prix du Canada in Montreal and has two second-place finishes and three third-place finishes this year, advanced to the finals eventually finishing in 63rd place. In an interview on Friday morning, the 23-year-old told Bowlingdigital editor Herbert Bickel how he started with bowling, why he prefers to bowl without using his thumb, about comparisons between Formula One and bowling, and why he has little doubt that bowling is a sport.

Palermaa beats Salonen to win Ebonite Lahti Open; widens lead in EBT Ranking

With the victory, Palermaa widened his lead in the European Bowling Tour ranking,. Salonen pocketed 4.000 Euro for second place, while Petri Mannonen, Finland, and Patricia Luoto, Germany, received 2.000 Euro each for finishing third and fourth.

Patricia Luoto becomes first women to win Columbia 300 Vienna Open

 Former World Games champion and long-time German national team member Patricia Luoto (left) defeated Martin Paulsson, Sweden, 224-201, to win the 6th Columbia 300 Vienna Open Sunday afternoon at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria. The wife of former World Champoion Mika Luoto, Finland, became the 10th women to win an European Bowling Tour event and the first who won the title in the Vienna Open. Luoto Pocketed 6.000 Euro for accomplishing the feat and earned 100 points for the European rankings as the Vienna Open is one of the Tour's "majors".

The VO was held from Sep. 30 - Oct. 5, at Plus Bowling in Vienna, Austria, and drew 278 players from 26 countries. 228 men and 50 women competed for total prize money of 65.630 Euro or about 90,000 dollars.
