Svensson, who won the gold medal in Masters at the 2012 European Youth Championships, became the youngest player ever to win an EBT title and is also the youngest Ballmaster champion in the 43-year history of the prestigious event.

The World Tenpin Bowling Association has announced in its December newsletter that all invited federations have confirmed their participation in the event which will be held from August 16-31 at Sunset Station's Strike Zone bowling center, a 72-laner in Henderson, Nev., in suburban Las Vegas, United States.

Fresh off his victory in the Round1 Japan Cup, Mika Koivuniemi (pictured) of Finland defeated fellow countryman Tony Ranta in the title match of the 12th Qatar Bowling Open, 544-471, en route to win his second consecutive PBA International title and the 11th PBA title of his career Saturday at Qatar Bowling Center in Doha. The two-time PBA Player led Final Round 1 & 2 to capture the No. 1 seed for the playoffs. Koivuniemi pocketed 30.000 for the victory while Ranta received 14.400 Euro for second place.

In the title match, Ridhwan swept tournament leader Marshall Kent of the United States, two-games-to-none, to become the first ever Malaysian World Cup champion in the 48-year history of the event. Ridhwan, seeded third, advanced to the title match with a 2-1 victory over No. 2 seed, Andres Gomez of Colombia.

Ng posted the third-best 1832 series to maintain her lead with 6491 total and an average of 231.84 for 28 games. Kirsten Penny of England and two-time defending champion Aumi Guerra of the Dominican Republic were just 28 and 49 pins behin in second and third place with 6463 and 6442, respectively.

The 20-year-old, who became the second-youngest player ever to win an European Bowling Tour title in the Russian Open in September at the age of 19, rolled games of 237, 264, 225, 222 and 244 for 1192 and 3453 total, an average of 230.30 over 15 games.

In an effort to determine new lines of specifications at the sport of bowling's elite level, the United States Bowling Congress will join with the World Tenpin Bowling Association to look at factors that influence scoring. A background study and hypothesis testing will begin immediately, with lab and field testing beginning next year.

82 men and 69 women representing 84 countries to compete at Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw from Nov. 26 to Dec. 1

2012BWCLogo_small.jpg The 2012 QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup got underway Monday morning with the first five-block of qualifying at 24-lane Sky Bowling Center in Wroclaw, Poland, with 151 players, 82 men and 69 women, representing 84 countries participating. All players will bowl 20 games of qualifying over four days. The men were split into three squads, while the women's division features two squads. In a unique schedule, the women's squads are sandwiched between the men's squads.
