Michael Machuga works his way up stepladder to win PBA Chameleon Championship

Feldman wins first PBA Women's Series title

200809PBA05MichelleFeldmanMikeMachuga_small.jpg Michael Machuga and Michelle Feldman (pictured) captured the Chameleon Championship at Taylor Lanes, the fourth stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour. No. 5 seed Machuga  struck out in the 10th frame to narrowly defeat No. 1 seed Bill O'Neill, 209-204, to win his first title in three years. Machuga only advanced to Sunday's televised finals due to a scoring malfunction during Friday's Round of 16. In the PBA Women's Series, sponsored by the USBC, Feldman handily defeated Jodi Woessner, 199-173 in the championship match.

O'Neill leads Chameleon Championship; men's finals will feature top five instead of top four

Feldman and Woessner advance to women's finals; ESPN live finals air Sunday at 1 p.m. EST

Bill O'Neill (l.) finished atop the men's field in Friday's match play finishing 12-6 with 7,575 pins to earn the top seed in Sunday's final round. He led the field for the entire tournament. In the Women's Series, sponsored by the U.S. Bowling Congress, Michelle Feldman and Jodi Woessner (r.) finished No. 1 and 2, respectively, to earn spots in Sunday's live ESPN final at at 1 p.m. EST.

O’Neill and Johnson hold strong to finish atop qualifying at Chameleon Championship

Top 32 men and top 10 women advance to Friday’s match play

200809PBA05BillONeill_small.jpg 200809PBA05LiZJohnson_small.jpg Bill O’ Neill and Liz Johnson continued their dominance in Thursday’s qualifying of the Chameleon Championship at Taylor Lanes, the fourth stop on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour. O’Neill (l.) who led the 64-player field with 1,689 pins after seven games, remained consistent during the second block, finishing with 3,290. Johnson (r.) wasn't exactly thrilled with her second block performance but managed to hang on with 2,906 pins.

Jim Tomek Jr. atop TQR of PBA Chameleon Championship

Tomek Jr. and seven others advance to join main field on Thursday

2007PBAJimTomek_small.jpg Jim Tomek Jr.'s (pictured left) hard work has certainly paid off. Tomek Jr., who has been working closely with friend and exempt bowler Danny Wiseman on his game, led Wednesday's Tournament Qualifying Round (TQR) to advance to the main field of the Chameleon Championship at Taylor Lanes. Tomek Jr., 32, of Camp Hill, Pa. led the field with a score of 1,578, averaging 225.43 over the seven game block.Thursday's men's competition continues with the qualifying Round of 64, cutting down the field to the top 32 players. The women's field will begin play on Thursday with its qualifying Round of 16, cutting the field down to 10.

Robert Smith powers his way through to Sunday's Finals in Ultimate Scoring Championship

Smith, Bill O'Neill, Mike Wolfe and Mike Scroggins advance to ESPN finals

200809PBA04RobertSmith_small.jpg Robert Smith (pictured left) of Pataskala, Ohio managed to overcome his emotions and his back pain to prove he is one of the most powerful bowlers on the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour. Smith was one of four players to advance to Sunday's televised finals in the high-scoring Ultimate Scoring Championship. Bill O' Neill, Mike Wolfe and Mike Scroggins will be joining him in the finals, which will be taped on Sunday and will air on ESPN on Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. EST.

Patrick Allen ties record at Ultimate Scoring Championship

200809PBA04PatrickAllen_small.jpg The Ultimate Scoring Championship certainly lived up to its name as Patrick Allen (pictured left) of Wesley Chapel, Fla. shot a record-tying 3,647 (+847) total, averaging 260.50 for the 14-game block in Monday's Round of 64 qualifying at Taylor Lanes. Eleven players shot 300 during Monday's Round of 64. Parker Bohn III of Jackson, N.J. was the only player to shoot two 300 games during Monday's qualifying, bringing his PBA career total to 82. Three of the players who shot 300 unpredictably missed the cut. Tuesday's competition continues with single-elimination best 4-of-7 match play, until four players remain.

Walter Ray Williams, Jr. and Timothy Kauble win in PBA Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship

Williams claims his 45th career PBA title in Hammond, Ind.

Williams Jr. defeated Bill O'Neill, 246-202, in the televised championship round. Senior bowler Timothy Kauble claimed his first career senior title Sunday at the Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship; additionally, Sunday's championship round marked his first career television appearance. Kauble defeated Hugh Miller, 235-185, for the win.

P.J. Haggerty leads Tournament Qualifying Round of Ultimate Scoring Championship

Haggerty and seven others advance to join main field on Monday

200809PBA04PJHaggerty_small.jpg P.J. Haggerty of Clovis, Calif. said Sunday was the best he has bowled so far this season and he certainly backed up that statement with his performance. Haggerty led Sunday's Tournament Qualifying Round (TQR) with a 1,771 pinfall to easily earn a spot in the Ultimate Scoring Championship at Taylor Lanes. He bested the field by at least 54 pins and averaged 253 over the seven game block. Monday's competition continues with the qualifying Round of 64, cutting down the field to the top 32 players.,who will bowl in best-of-seven match play to determine the final four for Sunday's finals which will be taped and air on ESPN on Sunday, Nov. 23.

Amateur bowler Anthony Lacaze makes history at Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship

Miller, Kauble to bowl for the title in the first televised PBA senior event since 2001

In the semis, LaCaze will face Bill O'Neill (r.), who served as LaCaze's best man at his wedding. Walter Ray Williams, Jr., who is going for his 45th title, meets Mike Scroggins in the other semifinal match. Hugh Miller will take on Timothy Kauble for the senior title in the first PBA senior telecast since 2001.

Book leads Round of 64 at Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship

2008PBAS08MarkWilliams_small.jpg 2007PBAToddBook_small.jpg Two bowlers who have had a lot of success in Indiana found more luck in Lake County Thursday as Todd Book finished atop the field of exempt bowlers and Mark Williams finished in first place in the senior division at the Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship at Olympia Lanes in Hammond, Ind. Book made his only televised final in nearby Merrilllville, Ind. in 2007, where he finished fourth. He will begin Friday's Round of 32 as the top seed. Williams (r.) won the PBA Senior Lake County Indiana Open, also held at Olympia Lanes in August 2008. He leads the seniors going into Friday's Round of 8.

Canadian Lambert finishes atop field at PBA Tour Qualifying Round

Lambert finished the round with a total pinfall of 1592, averaging 227.43 for the seven-game block. He finished 29 pins ahead of second-place qualifier Lee Vanderhoef of Greenville, S.C. In addition to Lambert and Vanderhoef, four other professional bowlers advanced, as well as one amateur, Anthony LaCaze of Melrose Park, Ill.

Miller leads the pack in PBA Senior TQR at Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship

Event marks first televised PBA Senior Tournament since 2001

2007PBAS13HughMiller_small.jpg Hugh Miller (left) of Mercer Island, Wash. took the first steps towards claiming his second PBA Senior title Tuesday as he placed first in the Senior Tour Qualifying Round at the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour's Lake County Indiana Golden Anniversary Championship. He finished the day with a 220.30 average and a 2230 10-game total over two five-game qualifying blocks. The tournament is taking place from Nov. 4-9 at Olympia Lanes in Hammond, Ind., with the PBA Exempt bowlers and the PBA Senior bowlers competing simultaneously in separate tournaments.

After four career runner-up finishes, Angelo defeated No. 1 seeded Chris Loschetter (right) of Avon, Ohio, 256-215. In the opening matches of the 4-player stepladder finals, third seeded Angelo defeated #4 Wes Malott (222-195) and #2 Walter Ray Williams Jr. (221-214) to advance to the championship match.

Chris Loschetter earns the top seeds for the TV finals at PBA Viper Championship

Loschetter, who bowled for the University of Nebraska 1999-2001, went 12-6 in match play Friday to earn the top seed for Sunday's stepladder finals. Walter Ray Williams, Jr. earned the number two seed while Brad Angelo took the third spot. In a miraculous comeback, Wes Malott was tied for seventh with one game remaining and shot 268 to catapult from seventh to fourth place and claim the last spot for Sunday's finals live on ESPN Sunday, Nov. 2 at 1 p.m. EST.

Malott finished with a score of 3261, averaging 232.93 over the 14-games. He bested No. 2 and all-time PBA Title leader Walter Ray Williams Jr. (right) of Ocala, Fla. by 81 pins. Friday’s competition continues  11 a.m. - 3 p.m. with Match Play Round One (9 games) which cuts to the top 16.
