Santa, Sacre end 2008 PABCON Senior Championships with victory in Masters

Antonio Santa from Puerto Rico and Mexico's
Fransuesa Sacre ended the 2008 PABCON Senior Championships with victory in the Masters competition. Both semifinals, men and women, were decided in two games, while both finals went the distance. Santa used a 268 to eliminate Mike Aguilar, Guatemala, and defeated Leopoldo Ritter, Venezuela, 2-1 in the title match thanks to a 236 game in the decider. Sacre beat two Venezuelans on her way to the women's title. Sacre ousted Suzanne Algernon in the semis, 2-0, and came back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Milda Dos Ramos, two-games-to-one.

Gold for Puerto Rico and Mexico in Team event at PABCON Senior Championships
Mexicans Rodriguez and Sacre win the titles in All Events

The
Puerto Rican men and the
Mexican women earned the titles in the 4-player team event in the 2008 PABCON Senior Championships at Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Alfonso Rodriguez and
Fransuesa Sacre, both Mexico, claimed the gold medals in All Events. The top 16 men and the top 16 women in All Events advanced to the Masters finals, which will conclude the 2008 PABCON Senior Championships.

United States and Venezuela win the Trios event at PABCON Senior Championships

The men's team from the United States and the women's team from Venezuela earned the gold medals in the Trios event in the 2008 PABCON Senior Championships at Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic.
Edward Roberts,
Harry Mickelson,
Phil Prieto and
Rudy Moreno, won the first gold medal for the United States in this championships thanks to a strong finish. Roberts (721), Mickelson (598) and Moreno (701) had 654, 670 and 696 in the final 3-game block, a 224.44 average, to capture the title with 3815 pinfall total and an average of 211.94.

Suzanne Algernon (right) captured the men's and women's Doubles titles in the 2008 PABCON Senior Championships Wednesday at Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. The Puerto Ricans secured the gold medal with 2478 six-game total and an average of 206.50, while the Venezuelans combined the two highest individual series for 2333 (194.42).

Elsa Gonzalez claimed the gold medal in the men's and women's Singles competition in the 2008 PABCON)Senior Championships on Tuesday at Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic. Aguilar had a high game of 267 and a low game of 193 to win the men's division with 1345 six-game total and an average of 224.17. Gonzalez had a slow start into the championships with back-to-back 170s but rebounded with 231 and 250 to easily win the gold medal in the women's division with 1227 (204.50).

2008 PABCON Senior Championships gets underway with "Seminar on Lane Play"

The
2008 Pan American Bowling Confederation (PABCON) Senior Championships started on Sunday, September 7, with a "Seminar on Lane Play" organized by Kegel and PABCON that was held by 2-time PBA champion and USBC gold level coach Del Warren. The competition begins on Monday with the technical meeting, the Opening Ceremonies, the official practice and a Welcome Party, all at Cibao Bowling Center. 10 countries with maximum four men and four women will compete in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All Events and Masters from Sep. 9-13.

1st Senior Pan American Championships 2008 which will start Cibao Bowling Center in Santiago de los Caballeros, Dominican Republic on Sunday, September 7. "In bowling modern environment there are many variables and changes that need to be considered at the moment to build a conditioning pattern for a competence," Guandique said.
