Clara Guerrero took the lead in the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama after the first of three 8-game blocks and never looked back. The Colombian finished atop the women's leaderboard with 4989 24-game total and an average of 207,88 after three blocks on short, long and short/long oil condition to lock up her spot for the 2006 World Ranking Masters in Kuwait.

Daniel Falconi of Mexico rolled the third-highest series on the final day of qualifying to cruise to victory in the men's division of the American Zone Ranking Final at El Dorado Bowling Center in Panama City, Panama. Falconi, who took the lead after the second block, had a 1630 eight-game total on dual lane condition (one lane short oil, one lane long oil) to finish the three-day competition with 5027 pinfall total and an average of 209,46.

Carlo Sing finished his eight-game block on short oil (34 ft.) with games of 257 and 229 to help grab the lead in the men's division at the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama after Wednesday. Sing, who represented Panama in the 2005 World Games, checked in with 1700 pinfall total and an average of 212,50. Places two and three belonged to players from Puerto Rico, Luis Rodríguez and Edgardo Ruiz.

Clara Juliana Guerrero of Columbia used high games of 257, 247 and 245 to take the lead in the women's division at the American Zone Ranking Final in Panama after day one. Guerrero felled 1804 pins over eight games on the 34-foot short oil pattern, an average of 225,50, to lead Venezuelan Karen Marcano by 47 pins.

The American Zone Ranking Final is underway at El Dorado Bowling Center in Panama City, Panama, March 1-4, 2006. The event will conclude the 2005 American Zone ranking season. All players will bowl three 8-game blocks to determine the 16 players - 8 women and 8 men - who will qualify for the 2006 World Ranking Masters in Kuwait. The first block on Thursday will be played on the 34-foot short oil pattern.

Costa and Vargas emerge as American Rankings South Region champions

Walter Costa of Brazil and Colombia's
Sara Vargas (pictured) claimed the men's and women's titles in the 2005 American Rankings South Region. Costa led the men's rankings with 300 points and was one of ten Brazilians among the top 16. Vargas accumulated 313 points to lead Brazilians Jacque Costa (300) and Marizete Scheer (283), who finished in second and third, respectively.

Reyna and Henriquez lead 2005 American Rankings Central Region

Alejandro Reyna of Costa Rica and
Annie Henriquez of the Dominican Republic led the 2005 American Rankings in the Central and Caribbean Region. Reyna totaled 238 points in three events to lead Willie Javier, Dominican Republic, by 37 points. In the women's division Henriquez topped fellow country woman Aumi Guerra, 264-241 points.

Lambert and Asbaty crowned American Rankings North Region champions

The USBC Masters tournament and the ABC/WIBC Mixed Championships were the final ranking events in the North Region of the American Zone. The tournaments provided a few changes in the ranking but not atop the men's and women's leaderboard.
George Lambert IV (pictured), Welland, Ontario, Canada and
Diandra Asbaty, Chicago, Illinois, USA became the first North Region ranking champions.

Annie Henriquez (pictured) of the Dominican Republic and Costa Rica's
Alejandro Reyna became the first leaders of the American Zone Central and Caribbean Region rankings. With only the Punta Cana Open and some National Championships remaining to cash ranking points to qualify for the final American Zone ranking Tournament, both leaders hold a comfortable lead over their compatriots Aumi Guerra and Alberto Lizano.
