Larpapharat and Petrick end World Youth Championships with victory in Masters

Central Lanes in Agana, Guam - July 28-August 8, 2004

 Yannaphon Larpapharat from Thailand and Junior Team USA's Jennifer Petrick earned the coveted Masters titles to conclude the 8th WTBA World Youth Championships at Central Lanes in Agana, Guam. Larpapharat defeated No. 1 seed Jason Belmonte, Australia, 415-392, in boys' finals over two games total pinfall. Jennifer Petrick topped teammate Stefanie Nation in the girls championship match, 414-404. Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong and Korea's Kang Hyun-Jin earned bronze. Picture courtesy of Thord Lagercrantz.

Jason Belmonte and Jennifer Petrick earn topseed for Masters finals

Jennifer_Petrick_4605.jpg Jason Belmonte is vying for his third title at the World Youth Championships in Guam. The Australian shot a 1795, 8-game series on the long oil pattern to help grab the top seed for the boys' stepladder finals. Yannaphon Larpapharat, Thailand, and Wu Siu Hong, Hong Kong, will meet in the opening match of the three-player shootout. Jennifer Petrick (pictured), USA, maintained her lead to earn the No. 1 seed in the girls' finals. Her teammate, Junior national champion Stefanie Nation, posted the highest set of 1662 today and moved from 4th to second to meet Korea's Kang Hyun-Jin in the first match.
