Sharon Koh (second from left) of Malaysia mowed down the field in the Girls Masters finals en route to win the prestigious title at the 9th World Youth Championships. In the championship match against Therese Forsell (left) from Sweden, Koh won the deciding fifth game in style when she fired the highest game of the day to seal the victory with 265-196.

Esther Cheah earned the gold medal in All Events with
Caroline Lagrange, Canada second and
Danielle van der Meer, Netherlands third.

Cheah/Aziela wait till the last moment to win Girl's Doubles

Esther Cheah teamed with
Zandra Aziela to win the gold medal in the Girls Doubles at the 9th World Youth Championships in Berlin, Germany. The Malaysians finished with a 503-game to capture the title with 2463 pinfall total and an average of 205,25 Valerie Teo and Cherie Tan of Singapore were mere five pins behind to earn the silver medal with 2458. Squad 1 leaders Tina Hulsch and Janine Gabel, Germany, received bronze with 2426.

Singapore starts World Youth Championships with gold and silver in Girl's Singles
9th World Youth Championships 2006 - Girls Singles
Needing a 171-score in the final game,
Valerie Teo of Singapore rolled a 173-game to overtake her team mate
Cherie Tan and win the gold medal in the Girl's Singles. Valerie totaled 1193 pins over six games, with Cherie in second place at 1190.
Stefanie Nation, United States, earned the bronze medal with 1181.
