Esther Cheah teamed with Zandra Aziela to win the gold medal in the Girls Doubles at the 9th World Youth Championships in Berlin, Germany. The Malaysians finished with a 503-game to capture the title with 2463 pinfall total and an average of 205,25 Valerie Teo and Cherie Tan of Singapore were mere five pins behind to earn the silver medal with 2458. Squad 1 leaders Tina Hulsch and Janine Gabel, Germany, received bronze with 2426.
