Beck and Harvey end English ranking season with victory in PTBC Airport Challenge

In a match between the No. 1 and No. 2 seed, tournament leader
Richard Beck defeated Matt Hamilton, 393-367, en route to win the final Brunswick Team England ranking event, the PTBC Airport Challenge, at Airport Bowl in London, England, and enough points to move him into the squad for the second year. In the women's finals,
Nikki Harvey, the No. 8 seed, flew past No. 2 Jemma Smith, 392-297.

Barrett and Smith dominate in Burton Short & Long Singles

Defending Brunswick Team England ranking champion
Dominic Barrett led from start to finish in the Burton Short & Long Singles en route to win his second ranking event this season. In the women's round robin final a late burst by Jenny Billingham and Lisa Gardner pushed
Jemma Smith to finish with a 245 game to seal the title.

Williams/Froggatt win Macclesfield Grand Prix Doubles
Burrows and Jowsey earn maximum ranking points
Stuart Williams and Nick Froggatt won the annual doubles event at AMF Macclesfield with a 2648 total, just holding off the Jo Harries and Darren Cundy pairing who totaled 2574. Third were Rob Thurlby & Jon Zadel on 2557. Brunswick Team England maximum points went to
Lee Burrows and
Katie Jowsey.

Thornton wins PTBC Eliminator in Tolworth
Thurlby and Penny atop the ranking

Steve Thornton (center) won the PTBC Eliminator at Charrington Bowl in Tolworth, Surrey. He averaged 238,57 over seven games round robin and compiled a 5-2 won-lost record to finish with 1820 pinfall total. Trailing Thornton by 68 pins to finish in second place was Rob Thurlby (left), with defending BTE ranking champion Dominic Barrett (right) in third.

Moor wins inaugural English Open
Lakeside Superbowl in Nuneaton, England (Sept., 9-10, 2006)
Paul Moor (pictured) beat
Stuart Williams, both of England, two-games-to-none in the final match of the inaugural Storm English Open en route to win the 11th stop of the Brunswick Team England ranking season. In the best-of-three games match play final, Moor won a close opener, 183-179, and then stormed to the title in game two with a huge 246-195.

Lisa John is back, qualifies for QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup
Dom Barrett earns men's spot
Lisa John, who has recently started her comeback after an absence of almost two years due to injury,and 2005 Brunswick Team England ranking champion
Dominic Barrett will represent England at the 42nd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in Caracas, Venezuela to be held from November 4 through 10, 2006 at Mampote Bowling Center.

Stride and again Harries claim the BTE titles in Jim Brewer Singles
Bowlplex in Poole
Daniel Stride finished match play with games of 214, 248, 238, 267 and 223 to cruise to victory in the Jim Brewer Singles. On the women's side,
Jo Harries was handed the victory on silver plate by Lisa Gardner, who finished with a 141-game to settle for second place mere three pins behind Harries.

Moor and Harries All Events leaders in Norwich
Number Ten in Norwich
Paul Moor and
Jo Harries won the all events titles in the European Fives at Number Ten bowling center in Norwich. Moor averaged 230,09 for 11 games to lead his team RollRite to victory in the team event. Harries won her second ranking title of the season with 213,91 average.

Thornton and Harvey win second BTE title of the year in Croydon
City Limits in Croydon, Surrey
The 7th stop of the Brunswick Team England season was the Croydon Classic. The top men's spot went to Steve Thornton for his second ranking event win this year. The ladies went down to the wire in the last game with Nikki Harvey winning back-to-back BTE titles.

Nikki Harvey won the 6th event of the 2006 Brunswick Team England season, the Scott Banks Memorial in Leeds, England. there was some very good bowling at AMF Bowling Leeds this year including a 300 by Gareth Holder, three 299s, one 298 and 1102 four-game series by 18-year-old local Matt Hann.

Cheltenham Open Singles was the fifth event of the 2006 Brunswick Team England ranking season. Unusual enough that
Steve Thornton and
Jo Harries became the fifth men's and fifth women's champion this year. The first round (six games) was contested on short oil, while the second round (four games) was played on long oil with alternating long and short in the finals.

As the ranking points were given based on the standings after the 7-game prelims, men's and women's qualifying leaders Nick Froggatt and Fiona Banks received the maximum ranking points.
