Jason Belmonte in the decisive game, 221-181, to win the 43rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Continent Bowling Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. The 33-year-old right-hander ended an almost 12-year U.S. drought in the men's division at the World Cup with a two-games-to-one victory over Belmonte, who finished second after leading the event since day one qualifying. Hoffman, seeded second, swept No. 3 seeded
Andres Gomez in the opening match of the three-player shootout, 2-0.

Lee Sun Hee, Korea, in game one 280-201 and secure the victory with a 247-226 win in game two. In the opening match, Lee, 36, edged 18-year-old
Tina Hulsch, Germany, in a close opening match, two-games to none.

Belmonte, Hoffman and Gomez to bowl for the men's title in 43rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup

Bill Hoffman (center) and former PBA exempt bowler Andres Gomez (right), Colombia, will bowl for the men's QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup title Saturday in the live TV finals at Continent Bowling Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. The stepladder finals will be contested in best-of-three game format. Hoffman will take on Gomez in the opening match. The winner will bowl Belmonte for the title.

Lee Sun Hee (right), Korea, emerged as the top 3 women bowlers in the match play round of 8 in the 43rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup. The live TV stepladder finals will be contested in best-of-three game format Saturday, Nov. 10 and start at 10 a.m. with the ladies final. The men will follow at 2 p.m. In the opening match, Hulsch will bowl Lee for the right to challenge Putney for the title. Australia with Putney and men's leader Jason Belmonte have already secured the country title.

Lee Sun Hee (right), Korea traded the lead almost every game. When the dust had settled, Van der Tol had regained the lead and will be the top seed for round robin match play on Friday.

Belmonte wins men's qualifying at QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in St. Petersburg
Suartz, Salonen, Schmidt move into top 8 in final Squad B
Jason Belmonte from Australia remained unchallenged in the final qualifying squad and will lead the top 24 men into the second round in the 43rd QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup at Continent Bowling Center in St. Petersburg, Russia. Belmonte had six-game blocks of 1452, 1374, 1380 and 1400 to lead the field of 88 players with 5606 and an average of 233,58. Opposite to the previous years, the pinfall will be carried forward until the 3-player stepladder final. No complaint from Belmonte.He led the qualifying in the 2004 World Cup in Singapore but fell to eventual winner, Kai Virtanen, in the first round of the single-elimination finals to finish fifth.

Jason Belmonte (l.), the High Roller champion from Australia, rolled games of 245, 190, 206, 289, 253 and 197 to lead the men's QubicaAMF Bowling World Cup in St. Petersburg, Russia, for the third consecutive day. The two-hander, who is going to be married in eleven days, added a 1380 series to the 1452 from day one and the 1374 from day two for a 4206 18-game total and an average of 233.67.
