Verbruggen takes revenge and beats Öhman to win men's World Ranking Masters

Belgium's
Gery Verbruggen (left) defeated
Anders Öhman (right) of Sweden in two straight sets 247-234 and 221-217 to win the men's World Ranking Masters and the $8,000 first prize. Öhman, who had defeated Verbruggen in the European Championship masters finale last year here in Aalborg, walked away with $5,000.

Tan wins second consecutive title for Singapore in women's World Ranking Masters final

In an all-Singaporean clash,
Jennifer Tan (left) denied team mate
Jesmine Ho's (r.) bid for back-to-back World Ranking Masters titles when she defeated the defending champion two-games-to-none (205-172, 223-200). 21-year-old Tan earned the prestigious title and the first place check worth $8,000. Ho had to settle for second place worth $5,000.

Remy Ong captures top seed by the narrowest possible margin

Clara Guerrero regains lead and cashes another $1,000

First round leader
Clara Juliana Guerrero of Colombia scored the field-best 1727, eight-game series in the third round of the World Ranking Masters to win her second "High Block Award" worth $1,000. In the 24th and final game of the day, the 20-year-old right-hander overtook Tanya Petty, Germany to regain the lead with pinfall total of 5038, an average of 209,92.

Remy Ong takes over lead in men's division after two blocks

Singapore's
Remy Ong used high games of 258 and 268 to earn the "High Block Award" and to help grab the top spot in the World Ranking Masters men's division after two rounds. The 23-year-old, who already won two major tournaments in Asia this year, is holding a 78-pin lead over Saeed Al-Hajri from Qatar, 3408. Third place belongs to Daniel Falconi, Mexico, 3394.

Tanya Petty surges to the top in women's World Ranking Masters

Germany's
Tanya Petty (left) posted the highest 8-game block in the second round (worth $1,000) to boost herself from ninth to first in the World Ranking Masters. Petty averaged 224,25 this morning and has an overall average of 212,81 for 16 games. Her nearest rival is
Tseng Su Fen, the spinner from Chinese Taipei, whose 1671 brought her to a grand total of 3348 pins and a 209,25 average.

Remy Ong, from Singapore, is third. King received a 1,000 Dollar bonus for leading the squad.

Clara Guerrero takes the early lead in the women's division in World Ranking Masters

20-year-old
Clara Juliana Guerrero of Colombia put together an impressive 8-games series in her first block in the World Ranking Masters in Aalborg. Guerrero threw high games of 245, 248 and 256 to grab the top spot with a 1717-pinfall, an average of 214,63. Guerrero received a 1,000 Dollar bonus from tournament manager Kim Thorsgaard Jensen for the feat.
