XXX Copa Carnaval de Barranquilla, Colombia approved as ranking tournament

Gilbert Snijders. General Coordinator of the WTBA American Zone 2006 Rankings has informed us that the XXX Copa Carnaval de Barranquilla, Colombia, January 25-28, 2006, was approved as open ranking tournament for the South Region 1. The tournament attracted 51 male and 12 female bowlers of whom 6 male and 2 female (all from Colombia) subscribed for the WTBA South Region 1 Ranking 2006.
The ranking points gained by these participants were:
South Region 1 - Men's Rankings:
1. Jaime Monroy - 180 points
2. Jorge Otalora - 168
3. Manuel Otalora - 148
4. Johan Hernandez - 100
5. Armando Gomez - 96
6. Edgar Gomez - 80
South Region 1 - Women's Rankings:
1. Luz Adriana Leal - 166 points
2. Martha Perez - 115
The next ranking event for the Central, Caribbean and South Region 1 will be the Central America and Caribbean Games, which will be held from July 22-29, 2006 in Barranquilla, Colombia.
