2007 European Bowling Tour offers over 1.2 million Euro
Total prize fund exceeds 1.2 million Euro
The eighth season of the European Bowling Tour (EBT) will consist of 22 tournaments, 8 Challengers and 14 Majors - in 16 countries, Austria, Belgium, Denmark (2), England, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands (2), Norway, San Marino, Spain (2), Sweden (3) and Turkey (2). The total prize fund of the 2007 EBT will exceed 1.2 million Euro or approximately 1.5 million US dollar.
Only one of the twenty EBT tournaments in 2006. the Irish Open Championships, is not longer a ranking event in 2007. Three new tournaments will be added, the Ankara Open in Turkey, the Storm English Open in England and the 2nd Paraske Cup in Belgium. This marks the first time in the EBT history that the EBT Tour will visit Belgium.
The second stop of the 2007 Tour, the Hammer Bronzen Schietspoel in Tilburg, Netherlands, will be conducted on dual lane condition - left lane dressed with long oil, right lane dressed with short oil - throughout the entire tournament. As a bonus for the tournament's efforts, the ETBF Presidium has defined the tournament as a test event which features double ranking points like an EBT Major.
All 22 tournaments are approved by both ETBF and WTBA and all 22 tournaments are open for amateurs and professionals from all over the world. All bowlers can be awarded ranking points no matter of their nationality. In 15 of the 22 events, lane maintenance will be provided by Kegel, the official lane maintenance partner of the European Tenpin Bowling Federation. For a detailed list click here.
The eight highest ranked women and the eight highest ranked men after the 22 stops in the EBT 2007 will qualify for the World Ranking Masters 2008, to be held April 28 through May 4, 2008 at the Kegel Training Center in Lake Wales, Florida.
