No changes atop the leaderboard in the women's Trios event after the second three-game block on the long oil condition.

Korea, Malaysia and Korea, who led the field after three games on short oil earned the gold, silver and bronze medals at the 15th Asian Games.

Kim Hyo Mi, Hwang Sun Ok and Nam Bo Ra from Korea rolled games of 660, 677 and 595 (1932) to cruise to the title with 3983 pinfall total and an average of 221.28. Sun Ok led all players with a 1440 six-game series (240.00) including a 299-game on day one.

Malaysia's Esther Cheah, Zandra Aziela and Shalin Zulkifli, who were mere 13 pins behind the Koreans after the first block, were slightly better than their rivals in the second block (1935) but fell ten pins short to settle for silver with 3973 (217.83).

The second Korean trio with Choi Jin A, Gang Hye Eun and defending Asian Games Trios champion Kim Yeau Jin battled it out for the bronze medal with Jennifer Tan, and Doubles champions Michelle Kwang and Valerie Teo from Singapore.

Both trios were tied after five games when the Korean rolled a huge 674-series (to 618) to secure the third place with 3940 (218.89). Singapore ended up in fourth with 3884 (215.78).

The Korean women, who won the titles in Singles, Trios and Team at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, Korea, target to defend the Trios title at the Qatar Bowling Center in Doha, Qatar.

Team champions Kim Hyo Mi and Nam Bo Ra teamed with Hwang Sun Ok to lead the women's Trios competition after 3/6 games on short oil with 2051 pinfall total and an average of 227.89.

Second place belonged to Singles champion Esther Cheah, Zandra Aziela and defending Masters champion Shalin Zulkifli, Malaysia with 2038 (226.44). Both trios outaveraged men's Trios leader Malaysia by more than five and four pins respectively.

The other Korean trio with Choi Jin A, Gang Hye Eun and defending Asian Games Trios champion Kim Yeau Jin is in third position with 1918 (213.11). China and Singapore are tied for fourth place with 1900 (211.11).

All 24 trios will return on Wednesday for the second three-game block on long oil.
