ETBF has opened for tournament organizers to apply for their tournaments to be adopted in the European Bowling Tour 2008, which is the 9th consecutive tour in Europe.

The ETBF Presidium has a strong believe, that the EBT 2008 will be another record breaking year for the tour in Europe.

EBT Masters
The top 16 in the women’s and the top 16 in the men’s end standings of an EBT will qualify for the following year’s EBT Masters, which will be conducted for the first time in 2008 based on the end standings of the EBT 2007. The EBT 2008 will count as qualification for the EBT Masters 2009.

EBT Premier
As of 2008 there will be three categories of tournaments in a tour, since the ETBF Presidium has introduced an EBT Premier category with many high class criteria to be met.

Tournaments from outside Europe
The ETBF Presidium has decided that tournaments conducted in countries outside the jurisdiction of ETBF might be adopted in an EBT. This, anyhow, does not necessarily happen already in 2008.

Two already existing definitions
The total prize fund of a tournament is defined as all prize money allocated for individual players in the international part of the tournament.
The Entry value is defined as a ratio used to evaluate the interrelation between the size of the prize fund and the maximum entry fee.

EBT Challengers, also adopted in the EBT 2007
The total prize fund must be minimum € 30.000
The entry value must be minimum 175
The number of players per pair of lanes in qualification squads can be 2-6

EBT Challengers, not previously adopted
The total prize fund must be minimum € 40.000
The entry value must be minimum 225
The number of players per pair of lanes in qualification squads can be 2-4

EBT Majors
The total prize fund must be minimum € 55.000
The entry value must be minimum 325
The number of players per pair of lanes in qualification squads can be 2-4
The tournament must have been adopted in a previous EBT

EBT Premiers
The total prize fund must be minimum € 100.000
The entry value must be minimum 500
The number of players per pair of lanes in qualification squads can be 2-4
The tournament must have been adopted in a previous EBT

In addition a lot more special criteria exist for an EBT Premier, which all can be found in the EBT 2008 Rules - available at www.etbf.dk under the item Publications.

In addition to opening for applications for tournament adoptions in the EBT 2008, the ETBF Presid-ium opens for bids from organizers, who are interested in hosting the first EBT Masters in 2008 and the second EBT Masters in 2009.

Applications for adoption in the EBT 2008
The deadline for tournament organizers to apply for adoption in the European Bowling Tour 2008 will be 30 April 2007 and shortly after the composition of the EBT 2008 will be published.

Applications for hosting the EBT Masters 2008
The deadline of applications for hosting the EBT Masters 2008 is 1 July 2007.

Applications for hosting the EBT Masters 2009
The deadline of applications for hosting the EBT Masters 2009 is 1 October 2007.
