Ribguth, White, Hulsch earn gold, silver and bronze in All Events at the 20th European Youth Championships

2007EYCHulschWhiteRibguth.jpg Janin Ribguth (right) from Germany, who set an outstanding EYC record over six games with 1443, a 240.50 average, earned the gold medal in All Events with 3922 pinfall total from the Doubles, Trios and Team events and an average of 217.89.

Hayley White (center), England, earned her second consecutive All Events silver medal with 3904 (216.89). Ribguth's team mate Tina Hulsch (left) beat out Lisanne Breeschoten, Netherlands, for the bronze medal by seven pins, 3852 to 3845.

The top 24 players in All Events advanced to the Masters finals in single-elimination, best-of-three games format. Round 1 and 2 of the Girls Masters will start on Friday at 9.30 and 11.00 pm (GMT +2), respectively.

The top eight will bypass the first round and will be seeded 1-8 in Round 2 versus the eight winners of Round 1 (Highest seed bowls the lowest seed, etc.)

Joining Ribguth, White, Hulsch and Breeschoten in Round 2 are 5. Kelly Plummen, Netherlands 6. Carolin Witvrouwen, Belgium 7. Bianca Wiekeraad, Netherlands and 8. Rebecka Larsen, Sweden.

Sanna Hellden, Sweden, beat out Russian Alexandra Kachurina for the 24th and final spot by one pin, 3469 (192.72) to 3468 (192.67).

Each of the top 4 countries, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and England, has four players in the Masters. Israel is represented by two players, while Belgium, France, Latvia, Norway, Russia and Ukraine have one player each in the competition.
