Koreans set three WWC records en route to set the pace after one of four squads in Doubles

Kim set the highlight by rolling the second 300 game of a woman in the history of the WTBA World Championships in game #2.

In the first of four squads, the Koreans overtook the lead with a 526 score (Gye 267/Kim 259) in the third game, a new championship record for one game. Their 1395 3-game total broke the previous record (1391) by four pins. The Koreans added another 1392 in the second block to take a 124-pin lead.

Malaysians Shalin Zulkifli and Sharon Koh, who led after the first two games, finished the squad in second place with 2653 and an average of 221.08. The Malaysians tied the old record for three games, 1391, in their block after starting with 1262.

Third place belonged to Janin Ribguth and Michaela Göbel, Germany, who had 1226 and 1327 for 2553 pinfall total and an average of 212.75.

Kim and Gye posted the highest individual six-game series with 1406 and 1381, respectively. Göbel was third with 1371.
