ETBF announces first 'Premier' event for 2008 EBT season

The ETBF Presidium has announced that the Ankara Open in Turkey will become the very first tournament with 'Premier' status on the European Bowling Tour.

The 2nd Ankara Open will be held from September 13 to 24, 2008 at Rollhouse Bowling Center in Ankara.

To meet the requirements for a 'Premier' EBT event, the organizer had to increase the total prize fund from 70.000 € in 2007 to 100.000 € while keeping a maximum entry fee of 150 € plus offering a minimum of 700 € for the last place in the finals.

The ETBF Presidium has decided that the Ankara Open 2008 meets all criteria for an upgrade from an EBT 'Major' to an EBT 'Premier' and therefore the upgrade was granted by the Presidium.

The top 50 men and the top 50 women will receive triple ranking points compared to an EBT Challenger event (Majors offers double ranking points).
