2007 ABF Tour
Kritchawat, Chan capture men's and women's title in ABF Tour Tournament of Champions
Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia (Jan. 10-13, 2008)
Chan Suk Han, Hong Kong (on the right), and Kritchawat Jampakhao, Thailand, captured the women's and men's title in the ABF Tour's season-ending Tournament of Champions at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. Chan easily defeated the crowd's favorite Shalima Zalsha, Indonesia, 218-168, to capture the women' title and $10,000. The men's final was an all-Thailand affair between the two qualifying leaders. No. 1 seed, Kritchawat Jampakhao topped No. 2 Surasak Manuwong, 203-174, to cruise to victory, worth $20,000.
The prestigious ABF Tour Tournament of Champions featured the top 16 men and the top 16 women from the 2007 Asian Bowling Federation Tour. All players bowled 15 games of round robin match play with the top 8 men and top 8 women advancing to the single-game elimination finals.
In the quarterfinal, Chan (pictured left), the No. 5 seed, flew past No. 3 Angkana Netvriseth, Thailand, 224-154 and eliminated local favorite, Happy Soediyono, Indonesia, the No. 2 seed, in the semis, 187-177.
Zalsha (right), seeded sixth, stunned qualifying leader Liza Clutario, Philippines, in the quarterfinal, 191-173 and went on to defeat #8 Tang Joh Six, Malaysia, in a close match, 209-206, for the right to bowl for the title. Zalsha received $5,000 for second, while Tang and Soediyono pocketed $3,000 for finishing third and fourth, respectively.
On the men's side, Kritchawat (pictured left) eliminated Oh Young Ki from Korea, seeded fifth, with a 226-202 win in the quarterfinals, while Surasak sidelined Asian ranking leader and WBW Bowler of the Year, Jason Belmonte, Australia, the No. 6, 218-186.
Kritchawat went on to beat fellow countryman Somjed Kusonpithak in the semis, 225-179, while Surasak (right) won a low-scoring encounter against No. 7 Lee Young Jun, Korea, 186-168. Surasak received $8,000 for second, while Somjed and Lee pocketed $4,000 for finishing third and fourth, respectively.

Kritchawat and Clutario earn No. 1 seed for 2007 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions finals
Kritchawat Jampakhao, Thailand and Liza Clutario, Philippines finished the 15-game round robin match play preliminaries atop the men's and women's division to earn the No. 1 seed for 2007 ABF Tour Tournament of Champions finals.The prestigious event featuring the top 16 men and the top 16 women from the 2007 ABF Tour rankings runs from Jan. 10-13 at Jaya Ancol Bowling Center in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Jampakhao (pictured left), who was third after the first 8-game block won all but one of his seven matches on day two (no position round) to finish the 15-game match play portion with 3288 pinfall total and a 11-4 won-loss record (10 pins bonus per win). Jampakhao averaged 211.87 over his 15 games.
Trailing Jampakhao by 90 pins to finish in second place was Surasak Manuwong, Thailand, who checked in with 3198 (8-8) including 80 bonus. Third place belonged to Wu Siu Hong, Hong Kong, with 3152 (10-5), with Somjed Kusonpithak, Thailand, in fourth at 3148 (9-6).
Jampakhao will meet #5 Oh Young Ki, Korea, who led the field after day one, in the quarterfinals of the single-game elimination finals on Saturday. Manuwong takes on #6 Jason Belmonte, the Asian Bowling Federation ranking champion from Australia. Wu bowls #7 Lee Young Jun, Korea. Kusonpithak faces Asian Games champion Ryan Lalisang, Indonesia, who beat out World Championships Masters gold medalist Biboy Rivera, Philippines for the eighth and final spot by 11 pins, 3074 to 3063.
Clutario (pictured left), who led the women's field since the first day, won the first 14 of her 15 matches took the No. 1 seed with 3219 pinfall total including 140 bonus pins and compiled a 14-1 won-loss record. The Filipina averaged 205.27 over 15 games though none of the women was able to average 200 on the second day.Happy Soediyono, Indonesia, was second with 3151 and a 9-5-1 won-loss-tie record. Third place went to Angkana Netrviseth, Thailand, who won ten matches en route to a 3094 pinfall total. Putty Armein, Indonesia, landed in fourth place with 3055 (6-9)
Clutario will meet the third Indonesian, #6 Shalima Zalsha in the quarterfinals. Zalsha's compatriots will bowl the only Malaysian participants in the field. Armein will take on #8 Tang Joh Six, while Soediyono takes on #7 Lai Kin Ngoh. Netrviseth plays #5 Chan Shuk Han, Hong Kong.
The best Asian female bowler in the year 2007, Kim Eun Jung from Korea, who won both the ABF Tour rankings and the ABF rankings, missed the cut in 9th place by 14 pins due to a 155 final game.
