Live Coverage from the 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships in Hong Kong

Hong Kong Bowling City in Hong Kong, China (July 4-12, 2008)

2008AsCHKGPoster.jpg The 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships will be held from July 4-12, 2008 at Hong Kong Bowling City, Emax, Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong, China. The event is organized by the Hong Kong Tenpin Bowling Congress (HKTBC).

Most of the teams from China, Chinese Taipei, DPR Korea, Egypt, Guam, India, Iran, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Saipan, Singapore, Thailand and have been arrived today at Hong Kong International Airport, one of the busiest airports in the world.

Opposite to American and European Championships, which are both divided in a men's and women's championship, the 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships will feature both the best female and the best male bowlers from Asia competing for medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team of 5, All Events and Masters.

 The event will be staged in a state-of-the-art bowling center called "Hong Kong Bowling City" which is located in two convention halls.

Sheik_Talal_Mohammed_Al-Sabah_4578.jpg The 20th Asian Tenpin Bowling Championships started on Wednesday July 2 with the Asian Bowling Federation Executive Committee Meeting. The 20th ABF General Assembly begins on Thursday July 3rd at 9.30am at the Royal Pacific Hotel in Kowloon.  

Incumbent ABF President Sheikh Talal M. Al Sabah (pictured right) of Kuwait is seeking re-election.
