Live Coverage from the Men's World Championship in Thailand

SF Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan in Nonthaburi, Thailand (August 20-31, 2008)

TTBALogo_small.jpg The Thai Tenpin Bowling Association (TTBA) will host the second Men's World Championship from August 21-31, 2008 at SF Strike Bowl Ngamwongwan. The 42-laner with AMF equipment is located on the 8th Floor of a shopping center in Nonthaburi, approx. 30 minutes away from down town Bangkok. The 5-star Chaophya Park Hotel & Resorts in Bangkok was chosen as the official hotel.

46 countries - Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Brunei, Canada, Chinese Taipei, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dominican Republic, Egypt, England, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Kuwait, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Scotland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, Ukraine, United States, Uzbekistan, and Venezuela - have announced to participate in the event.

Maximum six players per team will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in six disciplines: Singles, Doubles, Trios, 5-player Team, All Events and Masters. Singles (six games on long oil) and Doubles (six games on short oil) will be contested on one oil pattern, while Trios and Team will feature two oil patterns (3 games each on long and short oil).

The top four players and teams after six games in Singles, Doubles, Trios and Team, respectively, will advance to the semi-finals. The winners of a single-game match will determine the world champion.
