Ebonite International presents "Bowling with the Stars"
Brands Team with Speedway Children's Charities, Victory Lanes to Host Special Bowling Evening on May 18
Ebonite International Inc. has announced plans to present "Bowling with the Stars," a charity event with its players on May 18 benefiting Speedway Children's Charities, a non-profit organization that supports numerous children's programs and initiatives nationwide. "So many of our players are involved in charity events in their respective regions," said Brenda Green, marketing communications coordinator at Ebonite International. "Jason Couch has an annual golf/bowling event, Tony Reyes puts on an annual bowling tournament for diabetes awareness in remembrance of his former coach and so many more do similar things every year. Even though they are all extremely busy on the Tour, they stay connected and involved in their communities.
"Almost all of them are parents as well, which makes this type of event very near and dear to our hearts. By partnering with Speedway Charities and our friends at Victory Lanes, Ebonite, Hammer, Columbia 300 and Track can use its influence to generate dollars for numerous worthwhile children's causes."
Scheduled for May 18, 5 p.m., at George Pappas' Victory Lanes, 125 Morlake Drive, Mooresville, NC, "Bowling with the Stars" presented by Ebonite International, Inc. will provide a fun-filled evening of bowling, food, trick shots, meet and greet sessions with your favorite Ebonite International bowlers and more surprises. A silent auction of bowling and racing memorabilia will also round out the evening.
Bowler participation in the event is $125 per person and spectator admission is $25 per person. Each bowler will bowl three games with the "Stars," including Tommy Jones, Doug Kent, Chris Barnes, Wes Malott, Jason Couch, Patrick Allen, Mitch Beasley, Billy Oatman, Tony Reyes, Kevin LePage and Leon Lamm. Bowlers can register for the event by contacting Victory Lanes at 704-663-5300. Proceeds from the event will be distributed to various organizations by Speedway Children's Charities.
"We've all been blessed with bowling talent and it's a honor to use those abilities to give back to the community," said veteran Ebonite staff member, Jason Couch (left). "One of the many great things about Ebonite is that they are constantly giving back to the community, whether through sponsorships or other programs, and finding ways to positively affect the lives of others. Victory Lanes is an incredible center and we're thrilled to have them host the inaugural 'Bowling with the Stars' charity event. It's my hope that we have a packed house and have to turn people away."
Founded in 1982 by Bruton Smith, Chairman of Speedway Motorsports and Sonic Automotive, as a memoriam and legacy to his son, Bruton Cameron Smith, Speedway Children's Charities' mission is to care for children in educational, financial, social and medical need in order to help them lead productive lives. In 2007, the organization, together with its local chapters, awarded more than $3.3 million to over 510 organizations that address challenges ranging from learning disabilities, broken homes, and childhood cancer in communities across the United States.
